I am taking few minutes away from editing Emily and Joe’s wedding pictures to talk about their… engagement pictures! At first, Joe and Emily were not that keen on having and engagement session. I have the impression that they agreed to have one because: 1- it was included in the particular package they chose, 2- we would have to meet to discuss details about the wedding anyway and this could be done on the same occasion.
The session went well; we got along very nicely and they were not particularly stressed out by having their pictures taken. Nevertheless, Emily mentioned as we parted that she was really happy we had the session. Even before seeing the resulting photographs, she felt even more confident that her wedding photographs would turn out great. At that point, Joe and Emily also had a much clearer idea about how they would feel about having me around them on their big day and felt good about this.
When I look at all the photographs I have taken that day, it is obvious to me that they were more comfortable towards the end of the session than at the beginning. I probably was, too. This is an excellent recipe for great wedding photographs and a wonderful experience with your photographer on your big day. The difficulty I had choosing which photographs to keep from all the ones I have taken during Emily and Joe’s wedding is a proof of this! ;)
I will talk about their wedding very shortly. Yes, I know, I am such a tease!!! ;) For now, here’s a selection of their engagement shoot, in Regent’s Park, London.
